About Me

Hello, I’m David Clay. Photography, to me, is not just about pressing the shutter; anyone with a phone can do that.  It’s a journey through the moment in time.  A fraction of a second to capture and share the  richness of life, the unmeasurable beauty of untouched landscapes, freshly fallen snow, or the split second when a sunset explodes with color.  The whole body laugh of a child to the wise experienced eyes of an older generation.  From a young age, I was drawn to the allure of images and their unmatched ability to convey emotions and stories.  Making the viewer not just see, but actually feel, hear, smell and participate in the image.  This early intrigue evolved into a deep-seated passion to capture moments.  To keep them from being lost, only to be a memory that often fades away.

As I frame each shot, my approach is a blend of intuition and intention. I invest time in understanding the soul in front of the lens; be it a bride and groom stepping into forever, an athlete pushing boundaries, or a simple object under the spotlight. This understanding paves the way for photographs that echo authenticity and sentiment. Armed with curiousity and a stubborn pursuit of getting ‘the one’, I am committed to creating images that resonate, linger in memories, and stand as timeless testaments to moments passed.
